A Maze’n Farmyard, an amusement park in Eden Valley, Minnesota, provides farm-related fun to visitors of all ages. In addition to its permanent attractions, the park hosts various events and activities throughout the year and sells puppies. Active in its community, A Maze’n Farmyard backs the Eden Valley Lions Club. Since 1917, Lions Clubs International has been promoting community involvement among volunteers, encouraging peace, and meeting humanitarian needs. The organization also supports the environment through Lions Green Team, a group that completes a huge variety of environmental projects, such as planting trees and cleaning the environment. Through these projects, the Lions Green Team improves the overall health of the planet, thus improving the availability of medicine and food, along with the beauty of local communities. The service projects hosted by Lions Green Team enlists the help of both Lions, Leos, and members of the community. Recycling programs work to lower landfill debris by recycling such items as paint, shoes, eyeglasses, and books; meanwhile, community clean-up projects involve everything from raking leaves to landscaping public areas. Tree planting projects through the group require approval before the project can request volunteers, develop promotional materials, or invite media to the project. In addition to these projects, Lions Green Team hosts environmental education projects targeting the public. These projects include a huge range of activities, such as cleaning freshwater rivers or ponds and organizing a community-wide recycling event, all of which inform the public about why protecting and preserving the environment is important.
