A Maze’n Farmyard is a destination for families with young children to enjoy a day of interacting with animals and exploring the farm. In addition to providing activities for family visitors, A Maze’n Farmyard is active in donating to charitable causes such as Youth for Christ International.
At Youth for Christ (YFC), the goal is the unity of all Christians everywhere to unite in providing for humanity the word of Jesus Christ and the salvation he offers. The charity’s logo displays as much: a person with arms outstretched in an expression of love generic enough that anyone can see themselves in the same position and a globe with converging lines that symbolize Christians coming together. Their work is truly international in nature, having a presence everywhere from the Americas to Europe to Asia and Africa. For example, in 2021, the Zimbabwe branch has successfully guided teenage Christians through digital bible studies that encourage forgiveness and prayer as part of a spiritual lifestyle, while in Šibenik, Croatia, the YFC ministry celebrated opening a new basketball camp for young people.

A Maze'n Farmyard, LLC, is a family amusement operation located in Eden Valley, Minnesota. Attractions at A Maze'n Farmyard range from the titular maze, which occupies 20,000 square feet, to a brand new duck- and fish-feeding pond.
Feeding ducks and geese at a local pond is a leisurely pastime that can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages and backgrounds. That said, people should ensure that they are providing the animals with food that is safe to eat. Contrary to popular belief, bread and related foods should not be fed to waterfowl, as they provide no nutritional value and can stunt duckling growth. Furthermore, uneaten bread can pollute water sources and draw rodents to the area. Spoiled food and junk food should also be avoided, particularly the former, as moldy or rotten food can be fatal to waterfowl. That said, a multitude of food products can provide ducks and geese with important nutrients and vitamins, namely those that bear similarities to natural waterfowl food sources. These items include cracked corn, cooked or uncooked rice, oats, grains, and bird seed. People can even consider visiting a local pet or animal supply store and discussing duck food with a knowledgeable professional. Based in Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze'n Farmyard welcomes families to enjoy a day with animals, from riding ponies to feeding ducks and fish. It also offers entertainment such as a bounce barn, a permanent maze, and multiple slides. A Maze'n Farmyard is committed to giving back to the community through charitable giving and donates to the Eden Valley Lions Club.
Founded in 1917, the Lions Club encourages volunteers to serve their communities, both locally and around the globe. Among its international efforts, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) established the Lions SightFirst Madagascar (LSFM) program to enhance eye care services and restore sight in Madagascar. The program celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019. At the core of the LSFM program is the SightFirst Madagascar Eye Center in Madagascar, which offers eye care daily to people in need. The center is supported by 53 Lion and Leo clubs and the LCIF. Over the past 20 years, the center has made significant contributions to restoring vision in the country. For instance, it has completed more than 77,000 cataract surgeries, trained more than 60 physicians, and distributed more than 101,000 pairs of glasses. An amusement park and fun center located west of Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze'n Farmyard has been entertaining children families for 15 years. Over the years, A Maze'n Farmyard has partnered with several public service groups and charities including Youth for Christ.
Youth for Christ is a Christian organization that supports and educates young people around the world while extending “the opportunity to be followers of Jesus Christ.” Launched in March of 2018, the first ministry in Puerto Rico is Youth for Christ’s most recent national branches. At the beginning of 2019, Youth for Christ Puerto Rico (YFC PR) had established its board of directors and received recognition from the Puerto Rican government as an official nonprofit. The YFC PR also created Campus Life, a weekly club meeting aimed at encouraging students to learn how to live a balanced and fulfilled life. Youth for Christ PR plans to open at least two more Campus Life sites by the end of the year. Located in Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze’n Farmyard is home to a number of family-amusement attractions and events. In addition to attractions such as the animal barn and the 20,000-square-foot maze, A Maze’n Farmyard provides families with the opportunity to purchase puppies. All puppies on site have been thoroughly examined by a local veterinarian and have received necessary worm treatments. Puppies come from known, trustworthy breeders that have been licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and are protected against congenital defects for 12 months. The pet store is open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to closing and on Sundays from noon to close. On weekdays, appointments must be scheduled in advance. Parents who are interested in providing their children with the chance to engage with animals but are not prepared to make the lifelong commitment of raising a dog can take advantage of the numerous animal attractions at the barn, as well as related activities such as the walk-in birdhouse and duck and fish pond. A family entertainment and leisure company located in Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze’n Farmyard offers an atmosphere of learning and fun. Established in 2004, A Maze’n Farmyard is owned and operated by Paul Haag and his wife, Sheila, who also serve on the Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board. The Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board is an independent charitable organization established to fund community projects - including agricultural societies, schools, and fire departments – within the service area of the Meeker Cooperative Power and Light Association. The organization also supports area programs for youth, senior citizens, and community events. Eligible entities receive a grant from the organization once each year. In order to raise funds that would effect positive change in the community, the Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board launched Operation Round Up and Operation Round Down. Through Operation Round Up, close to three-fourths of Meeker Cooperative Light and Power Association members contribute less than a dollar on each bill by allowing the cooperative to “round up” to the next dollar. Operation Round Down, on the other hand, collects cents from cooperative employees who allow it to “round down” their paychecks to the next dollar. Proceeds of these programs are placed into the trust and used to help eligible entities. A Maze’n Farmyard, an amusement park in Eden Valley, Minnesota, provides farm-related fun to visitors of all ages. In addition to its permanent attractions, the park hosts various events and activities throughout the year and sells puppies. Active in its community, A Maze’n Farmyard backs the Eden Valley Lions Club. Since 1917, Lions Clubs International has been promoting community involvement among volunteers, encouraging peace, and meeting humanitarian needs. The organization also supports the environment through Lions Green Team, a group that completes a huge variety of environmental projects, such as planting trees and cleaning the environment. Through these projects, the Lions Green Team improves the overall health of the planet, thus improving the availability of medicine and food, along with the beauty of local communities. The service projects hosted by Lions Green Team enlists the help of both Lions, Leos, and members of the community. Recycling programs work to lower landfill debris by recycling such items as paint, shoes, eyeglasses, and books; meanwhile, community clean-up projects involve everything from raking leaves to landscaping public areas. Tree planting projects through the group require approval before the project can request volunteers, develop promotional materials, or invite media to the project. In addition to these projects, Lions Green Team hosts environmental education projects targeting the public. These projects include a huge range of activities, such as cleaning freshwater rivers or ponds and organizing a community-wide recycling event, all of which inform the public about why protecting and preserving the environment is important. A Maze’n Farmyard is a family entertainment center in Eden Valley, Minnesota. Perfect for children of all ages, guests of the center can enjoy everything from a permanent maze and bounce barn to train rides and a giant slide. Beyond that, A Maze’n Farmyard maintains several animal spaces where children can pet and feed such animals as goats.
Goats are known for their ability to pasture on virtually anything, including bark, green grass, shrubs, and small trees. Due to the fact that goats enjoy variety, they will go for whatever nutritious plant is around them. Because of this tendency to browse, goats must only be exposed to food that is good for them. Hay is the most common source of food for goats. In fact, it’s suggested that hay makes up about 90 percent to 100 percent of a goat’s diet. Packed with nutrients that goats need, a variety of hay species is usually available throughout the year, including alfalfa and bermuda hay. On average, goats need 2-4 pounds of hay each day, minus whatever they might browse on if they are put out to pasture. Chaffhaye, which is just grass or alfalfa that has been cut early on, is also a good source of food for goats. This type of food ferments in its bag, thus adding more nutrients and minerals to the food and making it easier for goats to digest. Many goats also enjoy eating grain, but they usually cannot survive on grain alone. Instead, grain should comprise up to 10 percent of a goat’s diet and be used to complement hay or pasture as a food source. Finally, goats love snacking. Good snacks for goats include sweet food, weeds, and human food. Since these foods typically do not have many nutrients, it’s not a good idea to feed goats a lot of snacks. A Maze’n Farmyard provides endless hours of fun for families all year round. Situated in Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze’n Farmyard contains a mini-golf course, a 20,000-square-foot maze, an interactive on-site barn, and numerous other attractions. The amusement park has hosted a number of fundraising events to support the work of Youth for Christ International, a Christian organization that uses ministry to impact the lives of young people.
One of Youth for Christ’s organizational goals is to establish and strengthen relationships between members of the ministry and young parents. The Central Minnesota Youth for Christ chapter provides ministry services to support teenage parents through its Parent Life program. Young parents can place their children in on-site child care while they participate in parenting and life skill courses. Parent Life also coordinates Abigail’s Closet, a donation center that solicits good quality clothing, toys, and baby necessities. Parents enrolled in Parent Life can earn these items by meeting with mentors and working with them to set life goals. Featuring barnyard animals, children’s activities, and a giant maze, A Maze'n Farmyard in Eden Valley, Minnesota, hosts daily activities all summer and weekend festivities throughout the fall. A Maze'n Farmyard is operated by Sheila and Paul Haag, Eden Valley community members who give back to others through their support of nonprofit groups and organizations such as Youth for Christ International. Founded more than 70 years ago, Youth for Christ was founded by Christian leaders who believed that traditional Christian outreach was failing to engage the youth of the world. Since that time, Youth for Christ has expanded to include tens of thousands of volunteers in countries around the world who spread the message of Jesus Christ through energetic, youth-centered initiatives. In addition to its local programs, Youth for Christ operates Foundation for the Nations. Headquartered at Youth for Christ's Northern Ireland offices, the foundation works to raise funds for Youth for Christ projects by partnering with individuals, organizations, and companies. These funds are then distributed to Youth for Christ chapters through a competitive grant application process. To be eligible for a foundation grant, applications must be for projects that will commence within 12 months of funding. The projects must also be approved by applying nation’s Youth for Christ national director, by the chair of the organization’s National Board, and by the appropriate area or regional director, or the international director. Project descriptions can vary widely, however, with funding available for capital improvements, website development, humanitarian aid projects, and others. |
