A family entertainment and leisure company located in Eden Valley, Minnesota, A Maze’n Farmyard offers an atmosphere of learning and fun. Established in 2004, A Maze’n Farmyard is owned and operated by Paul Haag and his wife, Sheila, who also serve on the Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board. The Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board is an independent charitable organization established to fund community projects - including agricultural societies, schools, and fire departments – within the service area of the Meeker Cooperative Power and Light Association. The organization also supports area programs for youth, senior citizens, and community events. Eligible entities receive a grant from the organization once each year. In order to raise funds that would effect positive change in the community, the Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust Board launched Operation Round Up and Operation Round Down. Through Operation Round Up, close to three-fourths of Meeker Cooperative Light and Power Association members contribute less than a dollar on each bill by allowing the cooperative to “round up” to the next dollar. Operation Round Down, on the other hand, collects cents from cooperative employees who allow it to “round down” their paychecks to the next dollar. Proceeds of these programs are placed into the trust and used to help eligible entities.
