Located in rural Minnesota, A Maze’n Farmyard offers a unique family amusement experience. Guests of all ages are free to enjoy a huge variety of attractions, including a giant slide, bounce houses, and petting zoo. At its petting zoo, A Maze’n Farmyard allows guests to hold, pet, and feed more than 30 different types of farm animals. As a parent, one of the most basic safety precautions when visiting a petting zoo or other animal attraction is watching your child or children. This is especially true for children under the age of five. During the entire time your child is interacting with animals, make sure they do put anything in their mouth. This includes fingers, pacifiers, and even food. Children also should be prevented from giving the animals anything other than the kibble or hay provided. In addition to preventing your children from putting anything in their mouth, it’s important to keep them from kissing the animals or letting the animals lick their face. After interacting with animals, be sure to wash your hands and those of your child. Running water and soap are typically best for cleaning the hands after petting and feeding animals, but an alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used if there is no water or soap available. Even if your child did not touch the animals, they must wash their hands if they touched anything within the animal’s living space.
